Sept 24, 2013 Meeting Journal by Lina Kartasasmita

It was our regular meeting with a theme Toastmaster of the meeting (TOM) 101. Debbie not only prepared to be the Toastmaster of the meeting, she also put lovely and delicious cake on our meeting table. The meeting ran smooth and sweet as the Debbie’s cake that she made with love. Thank you Debbie!

We had two prepared speakers Fazila and Gamar, and one educational speaker from our presiden Kevin. Fazila started her journey with her first basic manual project, the ice breaker. She started singing... “Tum paas aaye, yun muskuraaye (2)… Tumne na jaane kya sapne dikhaaye  “ She opened with a song Kuch kuch hota hai. A famous Indian song from Bollywood movie. In English it would be “You came near me and smiled like this,
You didn't know what dream you showed me, …” It was a hit for an ice breaker project. Someone who said she was afraid to speak actually could do something amazing in the stage. Fazila successfully grab audience attention and we also followed the song.

A star just born in Kebayoran club, she has a great sense of humor too.

Kebayoran is always a place to learn and grow. Sometimes the creativity was out of our expectation. Gamar delivered her advance manual project and it was a surprised when she wore daster and apron.  Wow this is what we called creative.

Educational speech from Kevin Simmons, was about “How to use Kebayoran club website and also to achieve our goal to get President distinguish club”. We are very proud that Kebayoran has been 9 times to be President distinguish club. Kevin hoped that all Kebayoran members could support our goal to get President distinguish club again at the end of this period in 2014.

Table topic session was so great lead by Rodney, our new member. Rodney could give almost all the members to take part answering the questions.

Evaluation was lead by Kevin and individual evaluators were Mia and Mita. Both individual evaluators did a good job in evaluation the prepared speakers.

We were so happy to see our new member Wei Shi took a role as Word of the day counter, and our member Siti finally could attend the meeting after several months absent and she was our Grammarian. Our timer was Lina and Vina was the ballot counter.  We gave our guest Abid a try to be our Ah counter.

We had a great meeting as usual.
